Our Team

Since our launch in 2022, the team at Hashemo’s Haus has worked tirelessly to promote our cause. We are fortunate to have volunteers staff from all walks of life who bring their unique expertise and resources into everything we do. This is what enables us to achieve our goals year after year.

While there is always more that can be done, there is no doubt that we are making a significant impact. We don’t measure our success through just facts and figures, but through happy faces and heartwarming feedback. See how you can become part of the difference.

“I AM AN INCORRIGIBLE IDEALIST AND I LOVE WORDS”. Words and language have been my thing since I was a kid. Before I became "Icy Bro" , I was all about poetry. As rapper Icy Bro, I earned my stripes in Baltimore’s Inner City. I rapped in basements and living rooms at “house parties” and so-called rap battles. I had a knack for deep lyrics that could throw punches at any"wannabe emcees.“ After moving to Germany as a young soldier, I found myself in the studio with renowned producer Frank Farian, chatting about how words shape pop music and working on his project The Real Milli Vanilli. Those sessions only deepened my passion for expression through language. Fast forward 25 years, and I've been teaching English to professionals across Frankfurt in finance, real estate, and beyond that needed that very same language for their professional development. But in 2019, I realized it was time to expand my move forward by going back. So, Icy Bro came out of retirement with a new mission: Teaching English as a second language to kids—and that’s where Lucky and The Little Girl in The Blue Dress come in.

LUCKY, OUR ONE-OF-A-KIND MUSHROOM PUPPET, DOESN’T FIT INTO THE USUAL CATEGORIES. AS A MUSHROOM, LUCKY DOESN’T HAVE A GENDER IN THE WAY WE DO, BUT WHAT LUCKY DOES HAVE IS CURIOSITY, KINDNESS, AND A GENUINE LOVE FOR PEOPLE— ESPECIALLY KIDS AND ARTISTS. NOW, HERE’S WHERE IT GETS INTERESTING: LUCKY ONLY SPEAKS TO KIDS AND ARTISTS. LUCKY’S SELECTIVE MUTISM MEANS THAT, DUE TO SOME RATHER ROUGH CONVERSATIONS WITH “NORMAL” GROWN-UPS, LUCKY’S ONLY ABLE TO SPEAK FREELY WITH THOSE WHO BRING A SENSE OF WONDER AND CREATIVITY. LUCKY’S STORY AND PERSPECTIVE MAKE LEARNING ENGLISH ALL THE MORE MAGICAL.
