Celebrating the Legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. and Martin Luther

When I was a little kid growing up in America, I learned a lot about Martin Luther King Jr. Imagine my surprise when I saw and heard the name Martin Luther in German, spoken with the same reverence!

The Dreams of Two Martins

The American Martin Luther shared his dream with the world in a now-famous speech. The German Martin Luther, on the other hand, expressed his disdain for charlatans within the church of his day by nailing his "thesis" to a church door. Both Martins are seen as liberators, freeing people from oppressive systems that sought to exploit them.

As I sit and write this post on Monday, February 2nd, 2026, looking out of my window in Frankfurt, Germany, I can't help but feel a sense of achievement that I believe both Martins would appreciate. Yet, I am also aware of what they would see as our shortcomings.

The Challenge of Focus

There are many individuals on what they would describe as this "God-given Earth" who prefer to dwell on the negatives. Some people have been conditioned or rewarded for doing so. It’s easy to get caught up in the challenges we face.

But the one thing that stands out to me when I think of both Martins is their courage to voice and write down the grievances they held against the power holders of their time. They were driven by a profound understanding that, despite what the powers that be may say, God does not deal in currencies created by man. No price can be put on human dignity!

A Personal Reflection

I am deeply moved by both Martins. I find comfort in knowing that, despite attempts to rewrite their stories, the essence of their messages cannot be erased. I am not a civil rights activist, nor am I a reformist or an evangelical leader.

I am simply a man who believes he has been given a mission: to facilitate peaceful human-to-human communication in English. I will not be deterred from my mission, and neither will Hashemo's Haus!

The Power of Human Intelligence

I do not write regularly, and I am not a robot. What you are reading was crafted with nothing more than HI (human intelligence) and HI 2.0 (human imagination). I want to foster that creativity in kids everywhere!

Unlike one Martin, I do not have a church on which to nail my thesis. Unlike the other Martin, I do not have a stage to articulate my dream. But I do have both! I write and I dream. I write because that is what God has commanded, and I dream because I do not sleep.

Join Our Mission

Join me and Hashemo's Haus on our mission to facilitate communication globally. We aim to bridge gaps created by belief systems that are often constructed in the houses of men. Let’s remember that we are all children of God!

Together, we can foster a brighter future filled with hope and imagination. Let’s make fundraising enjoyable and promote optimism!

Thank you for being part of this journey! Your support means the world to us. Together, we can make a difference!
